1967 MG MGB Roadster brochure from 1966

I promised that I would put the whole MG MGB Roadster brochure on the site and being a man of my words (most of the time!) I’m doing that now. This brochure was printed in it looks like June of 1966 so I expect the MG depicted is the 1967 model. I think this is the last of the MG brochures that is using illustrations rather than photography but don’t quote me on this.

For me it’s very cool as my untouched 1967 MGB GT is very similar to what they are picturing. What is odd is the colouring that they used for the illustrations. On page 5 they have a green engine showing and very cool blue disc brake rotors with green calipers. Maybe I should paint my car this colour. Is it original? Probably not, I think the artist got a little carried away. The cutaway on page 6 is even more cool, a little Andy Warhol colour action happening. Don’t tempt me, that would be one awesome looking MGB!

  1. I think this brochure looks like it is promoting the earlier MGB (1962 – 1964 or 1966?)- 3 syncro gearbox listed in the specification sheet, pull handle style door locks visible on the open door view, Interior illustration shows 3 syncro style gear lever surround. I don’t recall all of the upgrades, but I don’t think any of those features that I have listed were in the 1967 (&later) models. Rob Graham, Western Australia. wrencreek@hotmail.com
