MGBs are not the most powerful sports car ever made and many folks spend lots of money these days trying to add a little power to their slow car. Here we have a Craigslist 1963 MGB for sale that has gone the opposite direction. Why the hell would you put an anemic VW engine in the back of an MGB? Perhaps because you can have the only VW powered MGB in your state… or the world? Or maybe, the VW engine produces more horsepower than the stock MGB and this car is a poor mans Porsche 914? The car is located somewhere in Detroit, might explain it! Cold weather and a shithole city can do weird things.
The Craigslist ad for this crappy car is located here (car has sold) but this won’t last long. This is your chance to own the only MGB VW on your block.
1963 MGB for sale. Bought it to restore but found another project I’d rather start. Runs and drives. Has a manual transmission. Has a VW engine in it. Needs a battery but will put one in it to prove it runs. Clean title in hand. All imperfections in the body are pictured. $2100 located in white lake. Can deliver for gas money.
One thing this piece of junk Craigslist 1963 MGB VW has going for it is better paint than the Detroit house it’s parked in front of. It also has a pretty cool modified interior. I like the electrical tape on the steering wheel, probably there so you know the car should be going straight.
This cool MGB VW even has fake wire wheels. I thought you only saw these on Detroit pimpmobiles. This is in Detroit but these really belong on an old Ford or Cadillac land yacht.
At any rate, this MGB VW or VW MGB has too much time and maybe even too much money invested in it. It’s a deal!
How about a Porsche 911 engine? You could pop wheelies!
A Subaru engine would fit where that VW engine sits now.
