Wheel dollies or whatever you want to call them are very useful items and of course Harbor Freight puts them on sale regularly. One of the issues I’ve run into while working on my MGB GT is not being able to move it since it doesn’t have an engine or front suspension. I have needed to rotate the car 180 degrees and of course this hasn’t been possible. Now I can move the MG anywhere I want, very cool.

The rear suspension is still on the car so I jacked up the rear and placed the car dollies under the tires, exactly what these are designed for.

With a lack of front suspension and wanting to have access to the engine area for cleaning and painting I came up with this support system. Some scrap wood, lots of screws and the MG can now be moved easily, even when I’m on my own.

There is now lots of room to work under the car and I’ll be able to paint the whole engine compartment and most of the underside around the transmission tunnel. All I need now is some sun and warm weather.
