As much as I like the odd Burger King meal I don’t imagine eating fast food every day while wrenching on your sports car would be very beneficial. Think about what the MGB would run like if you used vegetable oil in the engine and too much Kool-Aid in the gas tank? Not pretty.
Fortunately I’m in a good position because we have a large vegetable and fruit garden so we eat very well. The downside is that the garden takes up a huge amount of time in the spring as beds need to be turned, fruit trees and bushes pruned and the watering system installed. My wife starts most of our vegetables from seed so our rec room looks like a nursery at this time.
Asparagus is the first vegetable we get to eat and during the 6 to 8 weeks it produces it grows like a weed. Tonight’s dinner will be tasty and look very colourful. Most days we will have perhaps 4 times this amount so it’s asparagus soup, BBQ asparagus, asparagus in the freezer. I’m sure glad I like the flavour.
