LED dash lights for the MGB

Working behind the dash on an early MGB is very easy compared to many cars due to the very simple wiring or lack there of. It can be a PITA however as there isn’t much space and items like the drivers seat and glove compartment always seem to be in the way.

With this is mind I decided it makes sense to make a few changes while I’m rewiring the car, the bulk of the gauges are out and… the seats are out. The first of these will be installing LED bulbs for gauges, hopefully making them a little brighter.

There are two different sizes required. E10 Screw Base LED Bulbs fit the main gauge lighting while a smaller size is used for the turn signals; something I’ll look into. Apparently if you do use the cheap Amazon E10 bulbs that I bought you have to be very careful not to push the bulb too far into the speedometer as it will foul the movement.

An update is coming.
