This is a very cool 1960’s archive photo of the MG MGB assembly line. Looking at images like this now you begin to realize how much has changed in 50 years. No robots to make perfect welds and do most of the assembly, just a few folks standing next to what appears to be a very slow moving line of cars. It appears as though each car has to be pushed to the next assembly location, certainly a very slow way to produce an automobile.
Of course this is part of the reason so many British car companies ended up going out of business. You can’t continue to build cars this way using decades old designs for long, especially after the Japanese entered the market.
