MG. Room enough for two. Fun enough to breed a generation of sports car enthusiasts.

Another classic ad that came out for the MG MGB in what must be the early 1970’s. “MG. Room enough for two. Fun enough to breed a generation of sports car enthusiasts.” What does this really mean? When I first read the headline I was thinking that the MG MGB would be an awesome car to run your date to the drive-in movie. Plenty of space for a good time if the movie was boring.

After reading the ad I don’t think this is what British Leyland had in mind. The ad type is actually very boring. “That was the MG-TC when it first turned America on to sports cars 26 years ago. And that’s the MGB today.” After that the ad just tells you what a great car an MG MBB is. How boring is that?

I guess the world wasn’t quite ready for the ” Your mother wouldn’t like it” campaigns that came a little later.
