MGB GT front suspension is removed

I finally removed the whole front suspension assemble from my MGB in anticipation of rebuilding the unit. Amazingly everything went very smoothly with no stuck bolts and minimal fuss. Even the steering rack came out easily.

Now since the front suspension is off you can see the amount of work that needs to be done. The bushings are shot and will be replaced with some new poly bushings. This will stiffen the MG up a little, an improvement that most folks like. I’ll be cleaning and repainting the parts as well.

The car body area behind the suspension seems to be in really good condition with minimal rust. I’ll be repainting this area with undercoating or something when the time comes.

The steering rack has lots of moisture in it due to the cracked boots that were present. Fortunately everything appears to be in good shape so a good cleaning and paint should get theses parts looking good again.

This should be a fun project, hopefully it will go smoothly!
