My carburetors look so good I have to share them again

I promised not to show a photo of my SU HS4 carburetors for a while. But… as I won’t be installing the MG carburetors for another few months I thought I would but the whole intake system together and store it as a unit rather than 150 different pieces. Here it is looking great. There are a few items like gaskets to replace before the final install but hopefully I won’t get carries away beyond this. My car is a driver, not a trailer queen.

Eagle eyed SU carburetor experts will notice that the middle throttle return spring isn’t installed correctly. Good on you, once the throttle cable is installed I’ll hook this up properly. When I started cleaning this unit up there was a choke return spring as well but I can’t see why that would be required and certainly many folks don’t use them. I can always add it later if needed.

Another before photograph. It’s truly amazing what a few hours of cleaning and polishing can accomplish!
