Removing the pedal box was a PITA. There is one bolt at the front left that is almost impossible to remove. I must have tried about 6 different sockets before I found one that I could get over the head. You pretty much have to use a 1/4 inch socket driver with a thin walled 1/2 inch socket on a flexible extension. As with so many items on this car some previous work had been done in this area, the clutch master cylinder was replaced at 98,000 miles. This of course meant that it was not put together properly. Likely the same mechanic that overhauled the engine as the work was done at the same garage. Anyway, got it out. It will be interesting to see what condition the clutch cylinder and brake cylinder are in.
Next step, remove the heater box. This sounds like another easier said than done job.
