After 48 years of use the original Coopers air filter housings are looking pretty ratty and have some surface rust where paint has either worn away or chipped off. Overall they are in good shape with only a few minor dings to hurt the original look. As this is a very large part of the open engine compartment experience I decided a little touch up was in order.

I’ve presently removed all the paint and will derust the filter housings later today. Hopefully tomorrow a few coats of glossy black paint will be sprayed and they can be reinstalled for the weekend. Time to order some new Coopers decals, the housings should look like they came off the showroom floor.
