As SpaceX prepared to test fire its Falcon 9 rocket today they had a “BAD DAY”. While this is truly amazing to watch, it will certainly put the SpaceX program back a little. Fortunately small private companies like SpaceX can bounce back quickly, remember the bureaucracy and slow moving changes when NASA lost the space shuttles?

Watching the satellite plummet to earth at about 1:25 is kind of a bummer. The AMOS-6 satellite owned by Israel’s Space Communication was being sent into space so that more folks in places like Africa could become Facebook junkies. Perhaps accidents like this are a blessing in disguise!

I don’t feel that bad about losing my MGB engine anymore, at least I can fix that in my barn.
