Yesterday I replaced the cracked thermostat housing that I had repaired with JB Weld. I never tested the repaired housing but instead bought a new one as they are very affordable for the MGB. I used studs instead of bolts this time as many “MGB experts” believe that this is a better way to go so you don’t have to remove the threads from the block every time you change thermostats. Two of the studs go into the water jacket so some Teflon tape was added.

The good news? I haven’t pressure tested the engine yet but there are no apparent leaks in the system. All that’s left is to tighten a few oil fittings and get her running.
