I’ve never figured out why auto manufacturers thought it was a good plan to advertise their cars with beautiful women hanging out in the trunks or hatchbacks. It does appear to be a primarily European thing to do, maybe what you do when you go to the beach or drink wine and eat baguettes at the Seine in Paris.
This early MGB GT ad shows a fine looking gal in the back hatch so at least I’ll stand in good company with other manufacturers like Lamborghini, Maserati, Triumph and Moskvich when I get my restoration finished. Did I really say Moskvich?
