Too many projects!

Every time I go outside to work on my MGB GT I seem to get distracted with any number of other projects. Typically they all get finished eventually but with the temperamental spring weather we get priorities change on a daily basis. Let’s take a look at what I’m working on during this quiet era of no travel due to some virus.

My MGB GT is living in a temporary garage on the property and is really close to being drivable. I’ve been saying that for months but the weather has been too wet and cold to spend much time underneath the car. Warm weather is coming this week so hopefully progress will be made.

The Lotus Europa is a project of its own as I’m presently doing some fiberglass work and redoing the interior.. Hopefully it will be back on the road in a few weeks, just in time for the ban on driving that might happen around here due to the pesky virus. In reality I imagine I’m looking at a few months still as I survey my property.

As you can see, the Lotus is surrounded by other projects. I have 1,900 SF of new siding arriving next week to replace the old aluminum siding that’s been on the house since new. This will be a big summer job! It’s also time to seed the lawn area that I just finished the past few weeks around the new front walkway. I don’t think I’ll be bored but there’s more.

I’ve also been working on our greenhouse. We now have running water on the inside and a large sink on the outside for cleaning up pots and any other dirty work that might need to be done. I’m presently filling in the grass area and will be seeding this in the coming week as well. You will notice the large garden in the background. It’s planting time so we have days of work coming up amending the soil, planting seeds and seedlings and attempting to keep the weeds under control.

Oh, I shouldn’t forget the boat. Spring is here so that means getting our 64 year old boat ready for some cruising. It’s generally very dirty after sitting untouched for 6 months and there is always lots of painting and mechanical work that needs attention. I’m sure glad I don’t work anymore!
