Ugly car of the week

This 1969 Elite Enterprises Porsche Laser 917 kit car must be one of the ugliest fiberglass kit cars ever made. What bugs me is that it’s supposed to look like one of the craziest and awesome looking racing Porsche’s of all time, the 917.

I sure dig the way the gull wing doors stay open, this will certainly impress your date! Mind you, I wouldn’t even consider sitting in the very ratty cockpit so maybe that’s a moot point. VW engine, non rusting body, what’s not to like?

You want to hear the strangest part of this total wreck story? This 1969 Elite Enterprises Porsche Laser 917 awesome racing, non-running, rat infested kit car just sold for US $3,600 after 52 bids. You gotta love Ebay. Who bought this monstrosity? The dude also bid on a Jeep this month, very classy.

I suppose with real Porsche 917’s going for somewhere around 2 million bucks these days this super cheap copy might not be a bad deal. Certainly if your friends and in particular your hot date don’t know anything about cars you might be able to pull it off.
