Face it, almost every European car lover would love to have a Citroën 2CV. They are cute, French funky, terribly unsafe and lots of fun. They likely are good chick magnets as well. What’s not to love?
Citroën ran some great ads in the 60’s and this is one of the, I’ll post more later.
- We couldn’t make it faster. After all it already exceeds the speed limit of 70mph by 1.5mph.
- We couldn’t make it any roomier. It will already hold the average family of 3.7 people with room for an additional 0.3 hitchhikers.
- We couldn’t make it cheaper. If we made it any more basic there wouldn’t be much left.
- So we painted it. How else could we improve it?
The new Citroën 2CV Dolly.
It was 1986. I was at the ad agency that did it. Colman & Partners.
